Have You Forgotten? [Rin X Reader] [Part 2/2] [RQ]

Rin came the following few days to help you with your studies, but that was everything. You were only texting him to ask what time he would come over, and he would only text to ask which material you needed to study. You knew your own feelings, but you resisted to let them out. It was hard for you to concentrate whenever Rin was explaining something to you which made him explain it again for some several times.

Little by little you could memorize the material, and soon you studied your way through the papers and books. Not much of the things the teacher gave you were left, and you knew it means that Rin would not come over anymore. Your sadness was growing day by day, but you couldn't tell him how you felt. It was just nice that you were able to meet him again after all these years, and you were actually more than surprised that he was still able to remember you.

It was already another day where Rin was helping you with your material. You thought about how he would disappear again after he had finished his things off. You let a sigh slip through the air, making Rin paying attention at you.

„Is everything okay?“ He asked while giving you a worried look. You nodded. „Yeah, I am just… pretty tired of studying, you know?“ You smiled at him. He nodded like he just understood something difficult. „Well, then lets go somewhere tomorrow to refresh your mind! I can how you feel. So, tomorrow no studying but lots of fun, okay?“ He asked you.

You were perplex for a moment, but then you nodded slowly without saying anything. It was quite surprising for you to get asked out so suddenly by your crush you had since your childhood. Excitement filled your chest, and you wanted to jump up and shake all your happiness out of your body. Rin seemed to have noticed your inner excitement, since he gave you one of his gentle smiles.

You two finished to study earlier than usual on that day. You weren't able to concentrate anymore because of your plans for tomorrow, and Rin didn't looked like he felt any different from you. Your thoughts were full of scenarios which might happen tomorrow.

Rin left after he packed up his books. You watched him walking down the street and waved to him whenever he turned around to your house. It was just awkward to look at, but it made you smile every time he waved back. You stood in front of your house until Rin was out of your sight, and then you rushed inside to let your happiness out.

Your excitement held on until late night, but you felt like you couldn't get any sleep. The thought of going out with the red-haired male kept you wide-awake. You did not even know where he wanted to go out with you. You had not any high hopes since you two will probably just gonna watch a movie or something similar to that. But you did not care about small things like places. Everything would be fine if you were able to spend some time with your beloved one.

The next morning you woke up to the sound of your phone buzzing. You opened your eyes slowly to let the light in slowly. Your phone kept buzzing next to you, so you took it aggressively and answered the incoming call.

„Hm?“ You asked into the phone with a grumpy, yet sleepy voice. „_____, open up. I’m in front of your house.“ You heard Rin’s voice replying to you. In an instant you were wide-awake, jumped out of your bed and rushed to the front door. You hadn't hung up yet, so Rin could hear you running and breathing. You heard him giggle, but that just lit up the excitement in your chest you had yesterday,

As you forcefully opened the front door, Rin hung up. He wore casual clothes while you… well… stood there with your pajamas.

„Did you just woke up?“ He asked you while you let him inside your house. „Eh… yeah. I’m sorry about that. I still was awake until late night.“ You told him and followed him to the living room he was heading to. A silent blush of embarrassment painted your cheeks in a soft red.

„Are you hungry?“ You asked the red-haired male to overcome the blush and to break the morning ice. He nodded. „Well, I wanted to go somewhere with you so we can eat, but if you want to cook me something that is also fine.“ He said. You sighed.

„That is not what I actually meant… but if you want to taste my gorgeous cookings, then you may.“ You said while grinning at him. Rin giggled again. You were confused. „What’s so funny? I’m serious! My cooking skills are over the top, so just sit there and wait. Watch some TV meanwhile.“ You said and handed him the remote control. Rin said nothing.

You had an open kitchen in your house, which meant that you still could see Rin and the living room while you were in the kitchen. He was watching some cartoon you used to watch when you were younger, which reminded you of your past.

„Hey, Rin.“ you said to get his attention. „Hm?“ He grunted without looking away from the fancy glimmering screen. „Are you still swimming?“ You asked him and opened the fridge to take out some eggs and milk. „Yeah, at Samezuka. Hasn't Gou told you?“ He said while lowering the volume of the TV.

„No, she hasn't even told me that you are back. I was pretty surprised when you stood in front of me.“ You said and mixed some ingredients together to make pancakes. Rin said nothing, so you assumed he was watching the cartoon again. It was quiet, a bit awkward and uncomfortable.

As you were done mixing the liquid dough, you took the bowl and turned around to bring it to the stove since it was just behind you, but you screamed and threw the bowl out of reflex. Rin was standing behind you the whole time and was watching you while you were preparing the dough for pancakes without you noticing him, and know he was covered in a mixture of eggs, milk, flour and everything else you had added into the mixture from his chest up.

„Rin! Oh my God I am so sorry!“ You apologized to Rin while he was slowly opening his dough-covered eyes. He just stood there for some moments, just blinking his eyes and looking at you. The longer you looked at him, the funnier the situation was. You started to burst into laughter, and soon Rin followed.

You gave Rin some tissues so he could wipe the dough off. „Reminds me of our childhood.“ He mumbled, which made you confused. „What, did something like did ever happened?“ You asked while picking up the bowl from the kitchen floor. Rin nodded and tossed the tissues into the trash bin.

„Yeah, you were making cake or brownies or something like that with Gou, and when you wanted to put the dough into the oven, you tripped and spread the whole thing on me. I remember how much you were crying because you thought I was mad at you.“ Rin explained with a smile.

You blushed. He was right, you could remember that day. It was also the day where Rin told you that you would be his future bride, but does he still remember that? You shook your head inside of your mind. It would be too nice if he still would remember, but if he remember it wouldn't mean that he felt the same way as you. He made you that promise five years ago, dammit.

„Well, in future you shouldn't be that clumsy in the kitchen.“ He said. „Hey, the first time I was clumsy, but now it was because you sneaked up behind me and scared me.“ You said in reply to him so you wont feel guilty. „Why does that even matter to you?“ You asked while crossing your arms in front of your chest.

„For several reasons.“ He answered quick, which left you with a bit confusion. Rin looked a bit around in the kitchen as he was searching for something.

„What’s the matter now?“ You asked him, being more confused. „Let’s go out already. It doesn't seem like you have any food here.“ He said after opening your fridge and looking into it. You sighed, He was right, and you were not in the mood for cooking anyway after your failed attempt to make pancakes.

„Fine, lets get going. There is a mini market nearby. We could grab something from there.“ You said, and a sudden grin formed on his lips. „What is it now?“ You asked him and sighed again. He just shook his head. „It is just that… well I thought we wanted to go somewhere like a cafe or the arcade, but I am fine with the mini market.“

„Hey, a mini market isn't that bad. You just want to eat a bit, right? And the weather is nice, so don't complain.“ You said. „I wasn't complaining! I just said Im fine with it.“ The red-haired male said in a tone like you just offended him, and you giggled. „Yeah yeah, I know. Watch some TV while I’ll change my clothes, okay?“

It was a sunny and warm morning, but also a windy one. The wind was not very strong, but it was still enough to make it play with your and Rin’s hair. Rin’s hair looked smooth and fabulous, while yours was flying into any possible direction. You had to fight with some hair which flew into your vision, and RIn just watched you while laughing silently.

Luckily, you arrived at the mini market before the wind decided to get any stronger. There were a few people buying, but overall the market itself was empty.

„What luck we have, we can choose anything we want!“ You said and directly went to the bread area, while Rin was going to look for some drinks. It was easy for you to pick some filled bread for the two of you, but you could see that Rin seemed to have troubles picking drinks.

„Is it that hard to pick something to drink?“ You asked. „Nah, its just that I am searching for the Sharkmo Soda they used to sell…“ He said and kept on looking in the shelves for the drink. You watched him for a while, but then you sighed.

„It is probably sold out. Get something else.“ „But I like Sharkmo’s Soda! You know, ever since I saw the bottle on your table I cant get it out of my head, and now I cannot find it. It is kind of sad, you know?“ Rin explained and crossed his arms behind his head. For only a second a bit of hope lit up inside your heart that he could’ve remembered, but it died again.

You sighed. Rin looked at you for a moment. „Hey, you said that I made you a promise the other after you handed me one of those bottles. What was it about?“ He asked, making you blush in an instant. „I-i-i-i-i- it’s nothing that great anyway.“ You stumbled out, but you knew Rin wouldn't believe that.

Anything Rin would say could either flame up your hope or shatter it into the smallest pieces. You prepared for everything he could say, but instead, he laughed. The few people in the store looked over to you, but they continued to shop right after.

„You are cute sometimes.“ Rin said like he would always say something like that to you, and you felt how your cheeks were burning up. You couldn't guess why he would compliment you all of the sudden. „What is that supposed to mean?“ You asked him.

„I cant do this anymore, _____.“ He said. You were completely confused. „What do you mean?“ You asked carefully, but he just shook his head. „It feels bad to lie to my future bride, you know?“ He said and looked at you like he waited for a surprising reaction. You couldn't believe what you've just heard.

„What exactly are you talking about?“ you asked in disbelief of his words. „Have you forgotten?“ Rin asked you now, sounding sarcastic. You were too surprised to think straight. He kept looking at you with giggles and cute smiles, expecting some great answer from you.

„Im sorry that I lied to you.“ He said after he realized that your mind was not able to think and work out what he just said. You still couldn't believe him. All this time he remembered the promise which was important to you, yet he still made you think he forgot. Your mind was slowly processing the information, and soon you could think again.

„I really hate you.“ You said in an offended but playful tone. Of course you couldn't hate him in any way, but it upset you that he was playing with your feelings. „Ah c’mon _____, I told you I am sorry. Don't be mad.“ He said while patting your head, making your heart starting to race.

„S-stop that… and I am not mad at you…“ you whispered, trying to hide your embarrassment. „Then what why do you seem so down?“ The red-haired male asked while taking a closer look at your face. „Its nothing! I am just a bit upset that you lied to me…“ You told him and sighed.

Rin was blinking with his eyes, and then he sighed. „I didn't meant to… Im sorry. I’ll buy you some soda to make it up to you, okay?“ He asked and grabbed the next best soda bottle in the shelf, but you shook your head.

„No, I don't want some soda.“ You said. „Well, what do you want then?“ He asked while putting the bottle back. It didn't took you long to think about something, and a grin formed on your lips. „Well, take me out, maybe?“ You asked him and crossed your arms in front of your chest.

Rin nodded. „Sure, why not?“ He said, and you knew that this was the start of his and your relationship.

You and Rin had a fantastic time together on your date. You watched a movie, went to the arcade and after that to a cafe.

„Hey, I must say you’ve grown quite a bit.“ He said while walking you home. „Well, you’ve grown too.“ You replied him and gave him a smile.

„I must also say that something about you has grown.“ He said with a smirk, and at first you did not understood, but then you crossed your arms protectively in front of your chest.

„STOP LOOKING!“
